Deaf Awareness Week and
International Sign Language Day 2024. The event highlighted the importance of sign language, Deaf identity, and the need to promote equal communication rights for Deaf people everywhere.

Celebrating Sign Language and Deaf Identity
The celebration brought together members of the Deaf community, sign language interpreters,
advocates, and supporters to recognize the importance of sign language as a fundamental
human right. Participants shared inspiring stories of how sign language has transformed
their lives by opening doors to education, employment, social inclusion, and personal growth.
These powerful testimonies demonstrated that sign language is far more than a communication
tool—it is a vital part of Deaf identity, culture, and community.
